PRONOUNS
Gender less, please.
Take us as we are.
Gender less, please.
Pronouns divide.
It's not needed,
A harmful construct
Just to keep us
Where they say we are.
Don't play these roles.
Don't make us play these roles.
And gender binary
Is boring anyway.
So gender less, please.
Take us as we are.
Gender less, please.
Pronouns divide us.

As Is
03:32
|
|||
AS IS
Talking about things
That we'll never say again,
Realising language
Is full of racism
And sexism
And homophobia
And patriarchy
And so and so on.
Our language is
Antiquated.
Don't take it as is -
Know what we say.
Then, in the kitchen,
On Britzer Damm,
Discussing gender
And discrimination.
Now, in Ennis,
Walk with pink hair.
But they don't understand
This distortion.
Our perception is
Manufactured.
Look for yourself,
And don't play these roles.
And you told me
That when you met me
You could not
See me as male.
And promise me
That you'll email me,
If you think this might
Be your last trip.
And talking about things
That we'll never do again,
The whole world is
Full of racism
And sexism
And homophobia
And patriarchy
And so on and so on.
Our world is
Antiquated.
Don't take it as is,
Take it all on.
Looking me up and down,
As if to say,
'Everything that you do
Is not okay with us.'
'Your clothes and your hair
Say what they say,'
I heard you say.
But T gives me support
And holds my hand
In front of all the cis dicks
Who try to repremand me for
My hair
And the clothes on my back
And even
The bike cog around my neck.
'The only good system
Is a sound system.'
Right now I could do with
Anarchist propaganda
And to be in Berlin,
In a bubble for a bit.
It's easy there.
Here every day's a fight
To keep myself
And explain myself
And be myself
And take them all on.
And some days I feel
I can't take them all on.
But fuck them -
I'll take them all on.
I shouldn't swear with 'fuck,'
It's not sex-positive.
But it's the last thing I've got
To show my disdain.
And talking about things
That we'll never say again,
The whole world
Is full of racism
And sexism
And homophobia
And patriarchy
And so and so on.
Our world is
Antiquated.
Don't take it as is -
Take it all on.

Art Is Free

|

ART IS FREE
I make films.
I make films.
And I make films, no it's not my job
So fuck 'your job' and fuck 'your hobby'.
'Cos I make films for me.
And I make films, not for money.
You've got to adjust your value system
'Cos it's so fucked.
I make films.
I make films
For me.
'Cos I make films, no it's not my job
So fuck 'your job' and fuck 'your hobby'.
'Cos I make films to change.
And I make films 'cos Art Is Free.
You've got to adjust your value system
'cos it's so fucked, you don't see.

Dress Without Fear

|

DRESS WITHOUT FEAR
It scares me how males see women.
And it's socialised from birth.
It's a dangerous world, I know,
That bigs up males from birth.
Big guns, building toys,
Boys, you own the world.
And girls are told to smile,
Be pretty and don't walk alone.
Gender-based harassment
And symptoms of patriarchy
Are unacceptable and harmful.
And it doesn't even make sense.
No one is 'asking for it'.
We should be able to dress without fear.
And 'no' is always 'no'.
But they never taught consent in school.
We need to tell people not to rape,
Not tell people how to dress.
It's not the victim's fault. Repeat.
It can never be the victim's fault!
You can't say 'Misogyny is dead,'
If you've never been female.
And you can't say 'We're all equal,'
If you've never been oppressed.
We need to be critical of our
Socialised language and actions.
We do stuff, we're not even aware,
But that doesn't mean it's not harmful.

NEVER TRAVEL (With A Bad Feeling)
I've never been home for so long.
Since I came back it's been harder to leave
And it's making me sad.
But I'll send my mother nice things,
'Cos I know that she'll be concerned
And she likes mail.
And you should never travel with a bad feeling, she said.
And you should never travel with a bad feeling inside.
And you should never travel if it doesn't feel right.
And you should never travel with a bad feeling, she said.
Life is only connections.
It took me ages and Gwen
To realise that.
So I won't be scared and I'll hitch-hike
Because fear of everything
Is a death.
And you should never travel with a bad feeling, she said.
And you should never travel with a bad feeling inside.
And you should never travel if it doesn't feel right.
And you should never travel with a bad feeling, she said.

Listen, Too
00:47
|
|||
LISTEN, TOO
Lying by default,
We don't even realise
Till we tell the truth -
All we say are lies.
And it's like we're afraid
To say an honest thing.
Like, 'I like what you did there,'
Or, 'I need support.'
'I need support,' is something honest we can say.
'I need support,' is something honest we can say.
Looking for a retort
To make it about you.
But you can have a laugh
And be honest and listen, too.
Phrase your troubles so they're 'fine'
When you're dying inside.
But 'I need support,'
Is an honest thing to say.
'I need support,' is something honest we can say.
'I need support,' is something honest we can say.
'I need support,' is something honest we can say.
'I need support,' is something honest we can say.

Words/ Lines
02:08
|
|||
WORDS/ LINES
Standing on the beach,
I can't tell you why
My passport lets me go and
I'm going to leave you behind.
So far from where we should be,
Scared of everything
'Cos of fearful words & lines.
But, 'we're all one,' or something.
It's privileged and naive
To say such things, I know.
But it's better than being any more
Complicit than we already are.
No one can be illegal for
Where they're born or how they live.
But privilege like yours and mine
Propogates through these words and lines.
So far from where we should be.
Scared of everything
'Cos of fearful words & lines.
But sure, 'we're all one,' or something.

I Am Anything
01:27
|
|||
I AM ANYTHING
And I told you
That I'm a hitch-hiker.
I don't know why 'cos
I hate to say that I am anything.
And if I'm a girl,
Or if I'm a boy,
I won't sing pretty
'Cos I'm too fuckin' annoyed.
Definitions
Are hard to defy.
How can we be anything
If we're already defined?
And for their ease,
We shouldn't self-define.
Just talk to someone,
Not something pre-defined.
All you hear
Are just things you've heard.
You never listen to
My chosen words.
So I grow, bleach & dye
And dress undefined.
Open your mind
Or drown in distortion.
You don't know me
Or anyone you don't meet.
Take the time to
'Cos assumptions are shit.
See me in a skip
Or on a road somewhere.
In a black dress,
Thrashing with pink hair.
None these things
Define me,
They're just things
That I like to do.
So when I told you
That I'm a hitch-hiker,
What I meant was -
I really like hitch-hiking
And I am anything.
We can be anything,
So I am anything.
And 'I am anything.'

Fuck Age Forever
02:47
|
|||
You're too old to wear a hoodie.
You're too old to wear your hair
That way and walk around
Fairy trees for hours.
You're too young to know what you mean.
Your art is a fluke.
You're too young forever,
Too old forever.
And age is man-made
So fuck age forever.
You're too old to wear a hoodie
You're too old to wear your hair.
You're too young to know what you mean
With your stupid hopes and dreams.
You're too old to know what you mean.
Your mind is obsolete.
You're too young forever,
Too old forever.
And age is man-made
So fuck age forever.

Ways To Be
03:43
|
|||
WAYS TO BE
We found a TV in the street.
Someone wrote 'brainwasher' on it.
A TV is just a monitor,
Culture is the brain-wash, head-rot.
When I see films & TV
The moral centre feels off for me.
Malignant stereoptypes show me
What they think of you and me.
Let's make culture that's not diseased.
A decent sitcom, at the very least.
Video games with female leads,
Non kidnapped or sexualised.
Let's make films with trans* actors,
Not white cis males with stubble & guns.
Let's make tunes about gender,
Not just privileged heartbreak.
Let's make stories to show people
They're not alone in the world.
There are so many ways to be,
But we just keep showing the same ones
Again.
